Management

The Doctoral Program in Management (DIM) prepares students to become proficient in research methods across various fields related to management and business, enabling them to advance and present the latest knowledge and empirical findings in their chosen area of study. Additionally, it aims to foster well-functioning businesses and inform sound decisions and policies. The complexity of markets and societies amid economic, social, and environmental challenges places increasing demands on businesses to actively engage with all stakeholders. There is an interdependent relationship between public business policymakers and academics in providing the complex information needed on strategic business issues. This program focuses on delivering business solutions in the aforementioned aspects. The DIM program consists of two stages – the coursework stage and the research stage. During the coursework stage, students learn the fundamentals of key theories and research methods and have the opportunity to specialize in a field of interest. In the research stage, students contribute through their research by writing a dissertation under the guidance of a supervisory panel. The dissertation must make a significant contribution to one of the DIM-related disciplines. Articles derived from the thesis should have the potential for publication in leading journals in the relevant field. The curriculum of the DIM Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UNPAD, can be divided into the following stages/activities: Instructional methods are implemented through: in-person, online, and hybrid modes.
