The Master of Midwifery Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, UNPAD, holds a significant history in the development of midwifery education in Indonesia. Established in 2006, it was the first Master of Midwifery program in the country. Throughout its journey, the program has produced human resources with competencies in developing midwifery services within the scope of women's reproductive health, as well as advancing midwifery education across the Republic of Indonesia. In response to the evolving challenges of globalization, the program conducts monitoring and evaluations aimed at addressing stakeholder needs. This process considers the ongoing transformations in healthcare and education systems, involving senior academics in integrated activities of education, research, and community service embedded within the Master of Midwifery curriculum. The outcomes of these efforts are documented in scientific articles, textbooks, learning modules, Intellectual Property Certificates, and Patent Certificates. The core focus of this development is clearly articulated in the Vision of the Master of Midwifery Study Program: "To produce professional educator midwives, particularly in community-based midwifery care and midwifery management, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally." Graduates of the UNPAD Master of Midwifery Study Program are competent in designing and managing comprehensive, evidence-based midwifery services. They are skilled in providing prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, as well as addressing women's reproductive health issues. These graduates are also capable of identifying and managing complications during pregnancy and providing education to mothers and families regarding maternal and neonatal health. Furthermore, they possess the ability to conduct midwifery research to improve the quality of maternal and child health services and contribute to public health policies aimed at supporting maternal and child well-being across various healthcare settings.
