Mathematics

The Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program at FMIPA Unpad holds the highest accreditation (UNGGUL) from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Science and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA). The curriculum is designed for a four-year duration, with a minimum total of 145 credits required for degree completion, comprising: 14 credits of university-wide courses, 91 credits of compulsory courses, a minimum of 33 credits of elective courses, and 7 credits for the final project.

Starting in the fifth semester, students may choose between two specializations: Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. The Pure Mathematics specialization includes two areas of expertise: Algebra and Analysis-Geometry. The Applied Mathematics specialization comprises five areas of expertise: Operations Research, Financial Mathematics, Stochastic Modeling, Environmental-Biological Mathematics, and Computational Mathematics.

The Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program at FMIPA Unpad has a distinctive feature, one of which lies in the field of mathematical modeling as an implementation for reinforcing mathematical theory. Competency enhancement to cultivate critical thinking, digital skills, problem-solving skills, and work skills is provided through mathematical computing lab sessions from semester 1 through 7, student involvement in faculty research, and the Freedom to Learn – Independent Campus Program (including internships, independent studies, teaching assistance, and student exchange).
