Library and Information Science

The Library and Information Science Study Program is one of the academic programs that consistently develops the discipline of library and information science in Indonesia. It fosters activities in information management and services, information production, organization, information architecture, storage, information retrieval, dissemination, and utilization, while also contributing to building Indonesian society's ability to keep pace with developments in information and communication technology within the country.

Virtually no institution, government agency, or company operates without possessing data, documents, archives, or other various types of information resources that require professional management. Consequently, graduates of this program are equipped to work professionally and contribute in nearly any institution, government body, or private enterprise as information specialists, documentation experts, librarians, archivists, or other professional roles within the information field.

The Library and Information Science Study Program at Unpad possesses specific expertise in the area of marketing, including public relations activities for libraries and information resources. This prepares graduates to effectively promote information services and uphold local wisdom.
