The Master of Clinical Pharmacy Study Program at Unpad is designed to produce clinical pharmacists expert in delivering evidence-based, patient-oriented pharmaceutical services. The program offers two primary concentrations: Clinical Pharmacy and Clinical Biochemistry, providing in-depth understanding of drug therapy management and other clinical aspects.
The Clinical Pharmacy concentration focuses on drug therapy management in clinical, hospital, and community settings. Students learn to optimize medication use for patients with various medical conditions. They are taught to analyze and monitor patient drug responses and provide appropriate recommendations to enhance effectiveness and reduce the risk of side effects. Learning is conducted through case studies, clinical simulations, and direct experiential training in hospitals or other healthcare facilities.
The Clinical Biochemistry concentration emphasizes an understanding of biochemical aspects in clinical therapeutics, encompassing biochemical research related to drug use and its effects on the body. Students delve into methods for analyzing and evaluating biochemical parameters to support more accurate diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, students are equipped with skills to interpret laboratory test results used in monitoring drug therapy and managing disease.
