Communication Science

The Doctoral Program in Communication Science at Unpad is the only doctoral program in the field of communication studies in West Java. Its research-based learning scheme makes the alignment of student research with their supervisors a crucial factor.

Alumni of this program have made their mark across various sectors, occupying strategic positions in companies, government agencies, and higher education institutions. They have also formed the Unpad Indonesian Doctoral Alumni Association in Communication Science (IDIK), which actively organizes academic activities and community service initiatives. This demonstrates the strong public recognition of the program's graduates.

The program has 13 permanent faculty members, maintaining an ideal student-to-faculty ratio. Approximately 77% of the faculty hold the position of Associate Professor, 7.6% are Lecturers, and 15.4% are Professors. All have fulfilled the Tridharma obligation of 12 credit hours and possess clear research roadmaps. Faculty publications include one to two studies per year, resulting in outputs published in Scopus-indexed international journals, either individually or in collaboration with student supervisees. This program stands as one of the proud achievements of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Unpad in producing high-quality graduates.
