Geophysics

The Undergraduate Geophysics Study Program at Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) is a premier program focused on the study of physical phenomena occurring on the Earth's surface. This program integrates Physics, Mathematics, and Geology to understand the Earth's structure, dynamics, and physical properties. Students are equipped with the ability to acquire and analyze geophysical data using state-of-the-art technology, applied in various fields such as natural resource exploration, disaster mitigation, and environmental management.

In terms of its curriculum, the courses within the Geophysics Study Program are divided into three main groups. First, foundational courses covering fundamental learning in Mathematics, Physics, and Geology. Second, core courses focusing on geophysical methods in earth sciences, such as seismology, electrical methods, electromagnetics, etc. Third, applied and insight courses, which discuss the implementation of geophysical methods in industry and their connection to other disciplines.

The advantage of Unpad's Geophysics Study Program lies in its strong industry partnerships for utilizing state-of-the-art geophysical equipment. It also features High-Performance Computing (HPC) facilities and several software programs that adhere to industry standards.
