The Master of Public Health (MKM) Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), has been operating for approximately 23 years and has developed into an independent and growing program. In accordance with current policy, its development direction focuses on a research-based higher education curriculum in the field of public health. This involves strengthening the academic discipline of public health, considering its philosophical and methodological aspects while not overlooking axiological aspects, namely the implementation of public health practices tailored to the needs and demands of all stakeholders.

Since 2021, the MKM Study Program has offered two tracks: the regular program and the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) program. Admissions for the regular program open every semester, while the RPL program opens once a year. The regular program can be completed in a minimum of three semesters, whereas the RPL program can be completed in two semesters. Currently, the RPL program for the MKM Study Program has no direct competitors. Consequently, it is quite popular among the public, particularly bureaucrats working in Health Departments, Regional Development Planning Agencies (Bappeda), Community Health Centers (Puskesmas), and Hospitals.

The program aims to produce master's graduates with a competitive advantage, capable of competing with graduates from leading universities in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Graduates of the Master of Public Health Study Program at Unpad possess competencies in designing, analyzing, and evaluating health policies to improve public health quality. They are skilled in managing health programs, conducting epidemiological research, and understanding the social, economic, and environmental factors influencing health. These graduates are also capable of designing disease prevention strategies, managing health crises, and formulating evidence-based health policies to reduce health disparities. With their analytical skills and leadership abilities, they are prepared to contribute to public policy development, health research, and community empowerment programs to create positive change in the health sector.
