The Doctoral Program in Mathematics offers a Doctor by Research program with seven concentrations/specializations:

The Doctoral Program in Mathematics is a Doctor by Research program with a study load of 72 credit units, which can be completed in 6 semesters. The Doctoral Program in Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), offers distinct advantages that set it apart from similar programs, namely its implementation as a research-based doctoral program (Doctor by Research). The dissertation output targets are a monograph or a collection of publications in reputable international journals indexed in Scopus at a minimum Q3 level, with a minimum of one published work and two other publications in submitted status.

The program aims to produce graduates who are:

1. Academics who possess integrity, professionalism, teamwork skills, strong self-development capabilities, profound scholarly mastery, effective teaching ability, the capacity to conduct independent and original research, competence in disseminating research findings, and a reliable field of expertise.
2. Researchers who possess integrity, professionalism, teamwork skills, excellent self-development capabilities, profound scholarly mastery, the capacity to conduct independent and original research, competence in disseminating research findings, and a reliable field of expertise, or
3. Consultants or practitioners who possess integrity, professionalism, teamwork skills, and excellent self-development capabilities in the advancement of mathematical sciences, as well as a broad and deep understanding of mathematical applications.
