To become a leading neurosurgery education institution in the Asia-Pacific region, research-based and oriented towards quality service in accordance with the latest scientific principles, with research excellence in the fields of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Biomolecular. The mission of the Neurosurgery Specialist Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran is to prepare Neurosurgery Specialists who possess integrity in accordance with Pancasila, scientific ethics, and professional ethics; to prepare creative, innovative Neurosurgery Specialists capable of advancing the field of neurosurgery; to prepare Neurosurgery Specialists capable of performing community service duties in the form of healthcare services in the field of neurosurgery in Indonesia; and to provide fundamental and comprehensive education and research in neurosurgery, which can support continuing medical education.

The program maintains a quality curriculum that is evaluated at the end of each semester, following guidelines from the Neurosurgery College. The program is equipped with comprehensive supporting facilities to foster the development of knowledge, research, and surgical skills for trainees throughout their education. The program produces graduates who are competent in managing neurosurgical cases and possess neurosurgical skills utilizing cutting-edge technology in delivering neurosurgical services. They also have a noble, open, and critical personality, both individually and organizationally. The program is actively engaged in research and scientific publications at local, national, and international levels. The program collaborates with leading neurosurgery service centers across Indonesia and actively sends trainees to these centers for observational education as part of the final year curriculum.

Graduates of the Neurosurgery Specialist Program 1 at Universitas Padjadjaran possess competence in diagnosing, treating, and performing surgical procedures for disorders of the nervous system, such as brain tumors, nerve injuries, spinal disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. They are skilled in performing neurosurgical procedures, both open and minimally invasive, as well as designing post-operative care plans for patient recovery. These graduates are also capable of managing patients with complex neurological conditions, providing conservative medical treatment, and overseeing neurological rehabilitation. With their technical skills and in-depth medical knowledge, they are prepared to contribute in hospitals, clinics, and research settings related to neurosurgery.
