The Medical-Surgical Nursing Specialist Study Program at Unpad is a program that envisions becoming a world-reputable, superior, innovative, and leading Ners Specialist Medical-Surgical Nursing Study Program in the development of science, technology, research, and practice of medical-surgical nursing. This supports holistic, integrated, quality, and sustainable medical-surgical nursing services, with specializations in perioperative, nephrourology, and emergency nursing.

The learning outcomes set by the Unpad Medical-Surgical Nursing Specialist Study Program include the ability to implement ethical, legal, culturally and religiously sensitive principles in fulfilling the role as a medical-surgical nursing specialist; the ability to manage and enhance professional capacity, particularly in advanced medical-surgical nursing care for patients with perioperative, nephrourology, and emergency issues, in a holistic and integrated manner to improve human quality of life.

Furthermore, graduates are expected to be able to conduct scientific nursing research and develop nursing technologies, apply evidence-based practice concepts and principles, and devise innovations to logically, critically, systematically, and creatively solve medical-surgical nursing problems. They will also be capable of providing specialist consultation to individuals, families, and communities within medical-surgical nursing services. Additionally, they can manage, develop, and maintain professional networks with intraprofessional and interprofessional colleagues in medical-surgical nursing, and are equipped to develop the governance of medical-surgical nursing services using management and leadership approaches.
