The Faculty of Medicine at Padjadjaran University (FK Unpad) was established on September 11, 1957, and comprises 25 departments with 33 study programs, including the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Medical Education Program (PS PDS), which began in 1980. This program aims to produce outstanding, highly skilled, and high-integrity specialist physicians, with a focus on service, research, and the latest technology. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at FK Unpad has five main divisions: Fetomaternal, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility, Urogynecology, and Social Obstetrics and Gynecology. Residents in the Specialist Medical Education Program receive intensive practice-based training at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital and other network hospitals, under the guidance of experienced teaching staff. The PS PDS Obstetrics and Gynecology curriculum at Unpad emphasizes active learning, research, and scientific publication. Over the past three years, the program has produced 336 publications, including 197 in international journals, as well as 20 textbooks with ISBN. The program also holds 28 Intellectual Property Rights (HaKI) and supports community service. Supported by 38 highly qualified permanent faculty members, including 7 Professors and 92.10% of lecturers with specialist consultant education (Sp-2), the program possesses outstanding teaching capacity. Furthermore, the competency-based curriculum is designed to produce graduates with reliable clinical skills, professionalism, communication, and management capabilities, while integrating the tri-pillar of higher education (education, research, and community service). Over the last three years, the PS PDS Obstetrics and Gynecology program has recorded a total of 336 scientific publications, including 197 international journal articles, 28 Intellectual Property Rights (HaKI), and various national and international awards. Its leading research topics, such as preeclampsia, cervical carcinoma, and endometriosis, align with the university's research roadmap. The program also has impactful community service initiatives, including early detection of cervical carcinoma and reducing maternal mortality rates. With an on-time graduation rate of 87.5% and an average graduate GPA of 3.53, the program demonstrates exceptional academic outcomes. Adequate facilities and infrastructure, along with local, national, and international collaborative networks, further strengthen the position of the PS PDS Obstetrics and Gynecology at FK Unpad as a leading study program in its field. Graduates of the Specialist Study Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Unpad are competent in diagnosing, treating, and managing reproductive health disorders in women, ranging from pregnancy and childbirth to gynecological issues. They are skilled in handling high-risk pregnancies, breast abnormalities, gynecological cancers, as well as hormonal disorders and infertility. These graduates are also capable of performing surgical procedures, such as cesarean sections and hysterectomies, and providing health education on women's reproductive healthcare. With their clinical expertise and profound knowledge, they are prepared to contribute in hospitals, clinics, and medical research to comprehensively improve women's health.
