The History Studies Program was established on November 1, 1958, and since 2022 has been designated as an excellent study program committed to advancing the historical sciences through four core competencies: political history, social history, economic history, and cultural history, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches. To implement this commitment, the program's mandatory courses are structured into five groups:

  1. Research Methodology Courses
  2. History Courses
  3. Public History Specialization Courses
  4. Auxiliary Sciences Courses
  5. Final Project Courses

In addition to the mandatory courses, thematic elective course groups are also designed to support students' interests in conducting historical research, whether in the form of pure academic work or public history projects.

Upon graduation, students will possess the following specialized skills:

  1. The ability to academically reconstruct historical events from the past and present them in written academic or public history formats. (Public history is not offered at competing universities.)
  2. The ability to produce history-based popular works (public history), such as biographies, prosopographies, historical films, and historical novels, both in textual and/or visual forms.
