The Master's program in Linguistics aims to produce graduates with an in-depth understanding of linguistic theory and analysis, both from a general linguistic perspective and specifically concerning the structure, change, and function of language in social, political, and cultural contexts. The program encompasses various branches of linguistics, such as phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, as well as macro and interdisciplinary linguistics, focusing on in-depth and applicable research in language studies.
Graduates of this program are expected to master various language research approaches and be able to apply them in analyzing and solving language-related issues that arise in society. The program also equips students with academic and practical research skills, as well as proficiency in relevant foreign languages, to support broader and sustainable research activities.
Furthermore, students will be equipped with the ability to conduct innovative linguistic research, adapt to the latest developments in language science, and make tangible contributions to the development of linguistic theory and practice both in Indonesia and internationally.
The curriculum for the Master's program in Linguistics is based on an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework. The total learning load is 57 credits, organized as follows: First Semester: 21 credits, comprising the following compulsory and elective courses:
