The Sundanese Literature Study Program is an outstanding program under the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Padjadjaran, holding an Excellent accreditation rating from BAN-PT. The curriculum implemented in the Sundanese Literature Study Program is dynamic, following developments in the field and market demands. It is the only non-education Sundanese studies program capable of meeting market needs in producing high-quality and excellent human resources in the fields of language, literature, philology, and culture. The degree awarded upon completion of studies is a Bachelor of Humanities (S.Hum.). This degree can be attained by completing a minimum of 144 credits over a period of 3.5 to 4 years. In the Sundanese Literature program, students are encouraged to participate in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program.

The Sundanese Literature Study Program delivers learning focused on Sundanese culture, divided into three main study areas: linguistics, philology, and literature & culture. In the linguistics study area, students learn language theories ranging from phonology to pragmatics, with the Sundanese language as the object of study. In the philology study area, students study Sundanese manuscripts, beginning with the development of the scripts used to the content contained within them. The study of philology is supported by various courses in textology and codicology. Furthermore, in the literature study area, students learn about Sundanese literature and culture. Various genres from classical to contemporary literature are explored in the coursework. In this area, students also learn about the periodization of Sundanese literature. Additionally, students are introduced to courses in entrepreneurship, local wisdom production management, language and media, as well as other courses that support soft skills development.

The Sundanese Literature Study Program is a department with a focus on local wisdom and indigenous heritage. The teaching staff in the program are experts in their respective fields and are graduates of both domestic and international universities. This demonstrates that the Sundanese Literature Study Program is the premier formal institution as a center for Sundanese cultural studies. In this program, students are honed in both hard skills and soft skills. Besides attending classes, students also participate directly in the field through the Field Work (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan) course.

In relation to its competitors, the Sundanese Literature Study Program does have rivals. Competitors primarily focus on the aspect of teaching the Sundanese language within the education sector. In contrast, the Sundanese Literature Study Program at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Padjadjaran, places greater emphasis on exploration and research grounded in theoretical studies of linguistics, literature, philology, and culture. While competitors produce graduates who become Sundanese language teachers, the Sundanese Literature program at FIB Unpad cultivates graduates who become researchers, observers, activists, and entrepreneurs in the field of Sundanese studies.
